Eddie came to the program because, in his words, “I was hooked on drugs and I wanted to get clean.” His goals were to stay clean, get a job, and eventually get his own place. He shared that “the whole program was helpful,” but what really made an impact was how much the staff cared. “They showed me they really cared and wanted to help me get clean.” Today, Eddie is proud to say he’s still clean and even able to save money. His message to others is simple: “Come on in—give it a chance. It works and it’s helpful.”

Michael says he came because “I was lost in the streets and needed some help.” He hoped the program would help him get his life back. Therapy and the love from the staff meant the most to him. “The therapy and all the love the staff showed me was a big help.” When he started getting focused again, he realized things were changing: “Once I got back into being more focused in life, I knew the program was working.” Now he feels healthier and is reaching most of his goals. His advice: “Give it a chance. It will help you do better in life—give yourself a chance.”

Henry joined because “I was looking for recovery and learning how to deal with areas and triggers.” He says the entire program and staff were helpful: “The whole program was a big help—even all the staff.” His turning point came when he realized his responsibilities and that he was in the right place. “I realized I had big responsibilities and this is where I needed to be.” Today, Henry is at peace and proud to be free from alcohol: “I’m not hungover, not under the influence, and I’m more at peace.” He encourages others by saying, “Join—this will impact your life big time. It’s a place you want to be.”

Lenette came because “I came because of Ms. Felita—she’s important to me.” She also wanted to finish her Peer Recovery Class class. She says, “The whole program helped, but Destiny helped me the most.” A tough moment that showed her growth was being moved repeatedly: “I got moved five times from different houses in a short time.” Despite the challenges, she’s learning to cope better: “I’m learning to handle things better and trying to have a positive outlook.” She recommends the program because “This is a good fit—they care a lot about your well-being.”

Desaree joined because “I came to get my life together—hoping to get clean and accomplished.” She found support through group meetings and her therapist. A key moment for her was realizing, “I was able to get clean.” Now she’s living sober and achieving goals she says she wouldn’t have reached otherwise: “I’m living life sober and reaching goals I wouldn’t have if I didn’t join the program.” Her advice is honest and direct: “Give it a chance. The program will work if you work it.”

Shawn came because “I needed mental and behavioral treatment from drug abuse.” He wanted to get his life back and secure stable housing. He says the whole program helped him, especially groups and therapy: “The whole program helped me, but the groups and the therapist helped me the most.” He knew it was working when he felt less overwhelmed: “When I wasn’t so stressed and I was learning how to solve my own problems, I knew it was working.” Today he’s made real progress—“I got my license and I’m getting ready to go to school in December.” His message to others is, “Give it a chance. It will work if you give yourself a chance.”
